We all love INDIA but still every time we plan for a vacation its somewhere far, obviously not in India. When we think about greenery and fine horticulture all we fantasize is either Denmark or Netherlands, but today let me introduce you to a place rich in its culture and heritage and famous for its lush and majestic greens by  our  Indian artisans (drum rolls) - DARGAH -E-HAKIMI in Burhanpur. Burhanpur is a midsized historical city in the Nimar region of Madhya Pradesh state  in India. It  is also called "THE GATEWAY OF DECCAN."

Situated in a small region of Burhanpur is the Dargah-e-Hakimi, which you can either call a natural wonder or a man-made masterpiece. It is a perfect blend of spiritual enlightenment and inner peace. It comprises of  beautiful gardens,  alluring craftmanship, contemporary infrastructure and charming villas. I visited this place recently and the reminisces of it still gives me peace and happiness.

These villas are cozy and comfortable to stay in and are well equipped with all modern facilities. Beautiful climbers grow on the walls of these villas. If I have to describe a typical morning in Dargah-e-Hakimi I would say that my eyes open with the beautiful rays of light peeping in through the glass window of my villa,my eyes wake up to the most magnificent surrounding. I wear my jacket and come out to see the sparrows chirping, the rabbits running with their adorable eyes on the freshly watered grass. I take a cup of coffee and hurry towards the EVAN-E-BURHANI, where food is served at all times to everyone who visits the dargah at anytime. It has a seating capacity of seating  50000 people at the same time!

After having tummy full of breakfast I head towards the roza (the tomb of SYEDI HAKIMUDDIN), it is indeed a feast to the eyes. The roza stood tall and shining, its marble surface glimmering and shimmering. White - the colour of peace and the roza a sign of peace and fraternity. This is because not only people of a particular religion visit this place but different people belonging to different cultures, religions, countries visit it, some for pilgrimage others for sightseeing.

After visiting the roza, I take a walk admiring the beauty of the place and taking a break from the daily stressful routine. I walk on the tiny oaths between the rose fields to see the fragrance of the newly blossomed roses. Furthermore, I see Emus running ,goats ,ducks ,pigeons and I feed them with bits of bread. An astonishing fact about the Dargah is that all the food cooked is from the vegetables, cereals and  pulses from their own fields.

Speaking of the outside, when one steps out of the dargah, one can find all fast and famous foods of Burhanpur.  Pani puri, masala aloo, kababs, samosas, malpuas, faloodas, soda, ice creams and barf gola. A continuous line of shops selling souvenirs and other general stores. Horse riding, camel riding, horse cart and other modes of transport are available for short distances.

I would just say that you should visit this place for two main reasons: rejuvenation and family time. It is a break from our daily hectic lives and also a place where our lungs can breathe as much oxygen as they want. The timely food and more of walking results in a good health and peaceful state of mind.

COME DISTORTED, GO ALL SORTED!
