The Dandeli Fever!!!

                                    The Dandeli fever!!!!

Dandeli..... naam toh sunahi nahi hoga!! (definitely not heard the name)..

Dandeli ,a small town in the Karnataka district is an ordinary town decorated with a beautiful river - KALI river. So just like you I had no clue that this place existed until my school organised a trip to Dandeli as our children's day celebration.

We traveled to Dandeli by bus that was a semi sleeper in which I bet nobody could actually sleep. On our way we sang songs and played truth or dare and so on. We sat in the evening and reached there the next afternoon. In the morning, we had breakfast in one of those stereotypic highway dhaba which filled our hungry tummies. We reached Dandeli and were warmly welcomed by the staff of the  SHIKRA JUNGLE RESORT which was booked entirely for our group. We were divided in group and some were given tree houses, some were given bunk beds and some were given tents and mini cottages. The resort was very beautiful.

After completing  our sleep, the next day we woke up all energetic and pepped up for the adventures awaiting. We visited the Kali riverside where the different water activities were  to be performed. We first did kayaking which was a completely new experience, I cannot describe the  happiness that i I felt in my gut while rowing those small kayaks. A friend of mine even tripped over and fell into the river but thank goodness we had life jackets.

After that we did zip lining across the river. Later we had our lunch near the riverside and then went to the waterfalls where we enjoyed and played with water until we couldn't even move. We returned back to our resort and at night a bonfire was organised for us where we sang and danced our hearts out.

The next day, we went for a trek early in the morning in the jungle. We crossed the flowing water  holding our shoes in our hands, the cold water touching our bare legs felt heavenly.

Then we set out for Kali riverside to do water zorbing which was great fun. At the end of the zorbing, we jumped into the river and came out drenched.

It was just a two day trip but it gave me memories which I will cherish forever. It made me realize that true  happiness comes from those little experiences which we have and those moments of joy which we spend with our loved ones.
