the queen of hill station

Image
Ooty is one of the best hill stations in our country. She is called the Queen of Hill Stations. We have been planning to go to the best place during our summer vacation. Many people suggested us to go to Ooty for its cold weather and awesome spots. We planned a 5 day trip to Ooty and booked a  resort before a week. We packed our luggage and boarded the train to Mettupalayam. From there, we booked a van and reached a resort in Ooty. In contrast to the Summer heat in our city, our trip to Ooty gave us a pleasant feeling. This cold temperature and wonderful natural sceneries are the center of attraction. The whole environment of Ooty – Dodabetta Peak, Sims Park, Pykara Lake, Tea Garden and many more drew us into happiness straight away. Boating in the lake would be really fun filled if you are going with a bunch of people. We took many photos in the most amazing scenery spots and those are memorable till now. The most awesome part of Ooty is the Botanical Ga...

a unforgetable trip to bangalore and mysore

Image
The first day we were brought down to the lovely city of Mysore the third largest city in the state and a very lovely city known for its gardens and palaces.  I recall as we drove into the town they were taking us to one of the most famous castles and forts in the area.  However instead of actually seeing the interesting parts of Fort Srirangapatna, they sort of took us on a drive through the fort over to a market and a large temple (Ranganatha temple )   in the corner.  While folks pushed trinkets and horse rides on us we wandered around for 30 minutes (which wasn’t even enough time to see the temple) only to then get back on the bus as they toured us through other things that apparently we didn’t have time for. What we did have time for however was a long stay at a souvenir and sari shop, which seemed to have nearly no time limit (well officially an hour but it lasted well past that).  We ended up sneaking away to see a local garden and mosque and still w...

Free sample essay on A Visit to a Metro City. I visited Mumbai during the summer vacation. My uncle lives there. Mumbai is one of the major metro cities in India. It is the capital of Maharashtra. It is one of the densely populated cities in India. It is a coastal city. It is located on the western coast of India. It is the centre of film production. It is also called the commercial capital of India. Mumbai is located in the moderate climate zone. Climate here is pleasant throughout the year. It is neither too cold nor too hot. Even during the time when the entire north India is reeling under severe heat, the weather of Mumbai is pleasant. Particularly on the beach it is all the more enjoying. Juhu Beach is crowded. Due to this climatic condition, Mumbai has been made the centre of film-making. Mumbai is known for skyrocketing buildings. There are thirty-storeyed, forty-storeyed buildings in Mumbai. The buildings are well supplied with water, electricity and other basic amenities o...

a trip to goa

Image
Finally we made it happen and we started the journey by bus to Goa on a bright and beautiful day I was so excited that during my journey to Goa , I could not sleep. I kept asking my Mom every now and then by when we would reach GOA. Finally my mom got angry and shouted at me. When we started entering GOA, I saw fishermen throwing their nets into the sea to catch the fish. It was a beautiful sight and I have seen that only in movies. Going further down the road, the road was full of greenery with coconut trees, jackfruit trees and many other trees and the roads were all so clean. It was so nice to feel the morning and was not at all noisy. During the day, it is almost silent and not very noisy, but as the sun sets, Life begins in GOA. It gets active and people come out and start having fun. There are small restaurants which have been made in the interiors of many small houses. The beach is the best attraction of Goa. It was so much fun to be at the beach. We played in the waters, m...

I recently concluded a fun and adventure filled trip to Jammu and Kashmir. At first I was hesitant to undertake this trip with family as several people warned me not to go ahead in view of the ‘alleged’ disturbance in that area. However I am happy that I insisted on going ahead, Kashmir being one of the important places in the list of my must-visit destinations. Yes, you might get scared initially as you will see army-men all over the place. They are paranoid about security with multiple and thorough checks of your bags and vehicles. However you get used to these soon enough. We landed at the Srinagar airport and the drive to the hotel ( Lalit Grand Palace ) through the road besides the famed Dal Lake was enough to mesmerize us. There was a blast at the Dal gate on the previous day and most of the local people were indoors but we faced no problem at all in reaching the hotel. A shikara ride and surf boarding in the evening were clear signals that this will be a trip to remember. We...
