Is it alright to leave your heart in places?

In the previous blog posts, I've written about many different places in India. From the picturesque Kashmir, to the familiarity of Ooty, there have been a lot of experiences in this country.

They say take only memories and leave only your footprints, but why doesn’t anybody talk about leaving your heart in a place? Or even a part of yourself? To me, travel is not only visiting new places, it teaches me lessons about myself. And I feel like a reason that I love travelling this much, is because I started my travel journey in India.

You see, India is a very multicultural country, you could visit two states in India, and it would seem like you're visiting two different countries altogether. But some things remain the same, the people and the hospitality. It's the people that make it all the more special, from the smiling ladies plucking tea leaves in the mountains of Ooty, to the witty driver in Kashmir, who became a part of our family by the end of the trip and all the random strangers who've helped us find our way in lost places. It's this hospitality that brings people all over the world to this country, and makes travelling in India, a lot more special.

I might have not travelled outside India, but right now, that's a plan far away. Because it is this country, so full of mystery and beauty, which makes me want to explore it more and more, every now and corner. I want to go see the mighty Asiatic lions In Gujarat, the hills of Ladakh and get lost in the caves of Ellora. I want to visit the islands of Lakshadweep, and also explore the seven sisters.

And when I'm done, I'd still go back to places like Ooty and Ambur, the places which I first travelled, the places I call my second homes. To this city girl, the hectic life might seem the best, but it is travel which has taught her that sometimes, it's alright to take a break from all that rush, to sit down, observe and admire all that is around us.

After all, I've realized that it's alright to leave your heart in places you love and after travelling in India, I've left my heart in many places. And none of that could be possible only in India, because I believe that every place in this country holds magic, and not the kind that wizards possess. This magic makes you feel welcomed in places far away from where you live and the magic that this country holds, is what makes it magical.
